Speaking to students on this day Prof. Felix Maringe the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics at the University of Kigali said “Women lead differently due to their nature, they are good listeners, and care about others”. He urged women to take more ownership of the challenges they face and strive to find solutions. He acknowledged that Rwanda had created more opportunities for women to take up leadership roles. Participants agreed that a woman leader to emerge depends on a variety of factors, one of them being exposure and her personal background, and they committed to facilitate the process.
